Sapele Timber

The sapwood is 3-8 cm wide, whitish to yellowish, the heartwood is dark reddish brown to purplish brown.

It is used in furniture making, paneling, parquet and doors, buildings, interior and exterior parts, aircraft, wagons, ships, violin making, turning and carving, especially as a cut veneer sheet on the upper surfaces.
